1. Math pg 135 and pg 142(to number 10) -due Tuesday.
2. OVERDUE reading responses! Some kids are getting negligent about homework completion. Please encourage them to complete; I may have to start keeping a few after school until they get the message. I usually give plenty of time in class to complete work. If they have homework, it is because they are either using class time unwisely or they need a lot more time than most students to understand/write/etc.. All kids are expected to do a little studying for tests at home.
3. Spelling- due Tuesday.
4. Paragraph- due Tuesday.

1. Play -be here at 6:40 tonight.
2. Field trip to Old Courthouse for art appreciation. Drivers are: parents of Nic, Haley, Jenna, Kieran, Michael, and Jonathan. If you cannot drive, make sure you phone in the AM and tell me! Thanks. Could you please come to classroom and get kids at 12:50. Thanks. Drop off or stay. We leave courthouse back to school at about 2:10.
3. Try to finish novel study novel by Monday. Reading response #4 due Monday.

Social Studies: Read up on your political party, specifically your section of the parties' platform.
We are learning about the upcoming election. The students were put into groups and each group has been assigned a main political party: Liberal, NDP, Conservative, or The Green Party. Please look through the newspaper, watch the news for coverage, or look on the Internet for information on the different political parties. We will be participating in a provincial wide vote with over 100,000 other students. This will occur on May 13th (the day before the actual election).

2. Handwriting-T,t, U, u- due tuesday.
3. Math- pg 129, 1-6 and 10, 11, plus 130, all- due Tuesday.
4. Reminder that students should not come to school Wednesday and Thursday night before 6:30, but should definitely be in Mrs. Abraham's class getting costumes ready by 6:45. Students may bring electronics or a book or art to work on while they are not performing.

1. Make sure you are past page 125 on your novel and you have handed 3 reading responses in to me so far. If not, get all that done by Monday!
2. Spring production: If your child will not be here at school Wednesday or Thursday or for any one of the 4 shows, please make sure I am informed. Thanks! for the 2 night performances, kids may bring their electronics to school for use in class while we are waiting our turn. I will lock door, but I am sorry that I cannot be responsible for lost or stolen items. I lose enough of my own stuff!
3. April 26, Friday- drivers are to pick up kids from our classroom at exactly 12:55. We should leave by 1:00 and be down at the Old courthouse by 1:15 or so. If you are just dropping and picking up, that is fine. Be at the Old courthouse to pick up at 1:10. It is a quick filed trip to go appreciate and vote for some top Canadian art. Drivers include: Nic's parent, Haley's parent, Jenna's parent, Kieran's parent, Michael's parent and Jonathan's parent. If someone cannot drive, please phone me. Thanks!

5. JDRF- Boys collected $101.00 and girls collected $79.00. Thanks you so much...wow...what generosity toward the charity!! Thank you so much for allowing your child to be involved. We easily surpassed our goal of $100.00.

1. JDRF- boys are winning with $58.00 and girls are close behind with $51.00. Bring in your last pennies if you like! Thanks you so much for your generosity to help the charity!
2. Finale play song- memorize ASAP! Bring costume in a labelled bag Friday or tuesday at the latest. Black shirt, black pants, sword, and optional armour. Bring a crown or I have many extras.
3. Math pg. 123 due Friday.
4. Novel of choice- read to page 100 by Tuesday.
5. Art field trip form-bring ASAP, no fee, but I need drivers to drop off and pick up, or come see and vote as well. April 26- 1:00-2:15, Old Courthouse.

2. Memorize play songs! Test Thursday AM. Gather costumes: we discussed requirements for a knight(black pants and shirt, crown, sword, armour if possible...beg, borrow, dollar store, etc.!) or a princess(some boys will be princesses as well, since this is a comedy; princess dress, gloves, tiarra?)
3. JDRF donations accepted until Friday. Thank you so much for allowing your child to bring in their change/money. The Kamloops JDRF will be so happy to accept this donation from McGowan gr. 5 class, and the class will be invited to a WALK in June with all free activities.
4. Scholastic orders due: Friday.

4. Make sure you have read to page 50 or more in your novel by this Friday.
5. Math test- graphs, tables and decimal review( adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing decimals). Study for Thursday's test.
6. Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation boys versus girls contest to bring in coins...thank you for your support! All money raised will be given to the Kamloops JDRF by end of April. FYI- there is a JDRF Amazing Race in April- google it and you can find details. It is very fun for a parent and child to do and there are some great prizes.
